Welcome to The Winning Streak!

Our latest award: best place to work! Wow.
Hi, everybody. Welcome to The Winning Streak, our new blog at Moxley Carmichael. It will replace our old blog, the one we called The New Streak.
Here’s why we’re changing. When we started The New Streak, our idea was to write about new developments in social media or, as we called it years ago, new media. But new media is not so new anymore. In fact, it’s an important part of everyday public relations now, so it doesn’t need its own blog.
Instead, The Winning Streak will be about public relations in general (including social media), interesting things going on with our great clients, and things you might be interested in that are happening at Moxley Carmichael. We hope you will enjoy reading The Winning Streak because we think all our friends and clients are winners! We also hope you will add your own comments to our posts when you feel so inclined. And please keep reading our other blog, The Blue Streak, which chronicles the activities and people that make living in Knoxville so much fun.
A great bit of news here at Moxley Carmichael is that we were voted by readers of the News Sentinel “The Best Place to Work” in the category of businesses with fewer than 50 employees. We are very, very proud of that distinction.

Merry Christmas from us! This is our lobby. We love the exposed brick in the Historic Miller’s Building.
In part to celebrate that award, which was announced earlier this month, and also to celebrate Christmas, we gathered for a company dinner a few days ago. We held it at the new Windows on the Park restaurant and bar at the Holiday Inn World’s Fair. The food and drinks were amazing, as were the service and atmosphere. We picked this location, in part, because the owner, Nick Cazana, hired Moxley Carmichael to help him with its opening this past autumn. From the looks of it whenever we visit, things are going great guns there. Please try to visit soon and see for yourself.
We also selected gorgeous little votive candle holders from another of our clients, G&G Interiors, which we filled with seasonal flowers from Cachepot and presented to each of our staff members. They were designed by the hot Dallas accessories artist Jan Barboglio. You should stop by G&G Interiors when you can and check out more of Jan Barboglio’s collection. We think you will like it as much as we do.
Happy, happy holidays from all of us at Moxley Carmichael. Thanks so much for your support and friendship in 2012. We look forward to seeing you in 2013 — when Moxley Carmichael will turn 21 and finally become an adult! Cheers!

Gathered for our Christmas dinner: From left, Jennifer Lawson, Moxley Carmichael account exec; John Miller, Lauren Christ’s boyfriend; Lauren Christ, senior account exec; Tammy Hartmann, account exec; and Amanda Shell, account exec.

From left, our digital guy, Bob Wilson, and his sweet wife, Angie; Michael Higdon, a friend of Scott Bird; Scott, a vice prez here at MoxCar; and Creative Director Charley Sexton.

From left, interns Morgan Owens and Taylor Perry and Amy Foster, our administrative support clerk.

On left, Michelle Henry, account manager, and her husband, David; and Erica Beck, graphic designer, and her husband, Karl.

At left, my sweet husband and the president of our company, Alan Carmichael; and our CFO Shaun Fulco and her boyfriend, Roger Hyver.

The folks who ordered the filet mignon raved about it!

The chicken was anything but plain.

Being from New Orleans, Roger is something of a seafood snob! But he loved the salmon.

But personally, I thought I had the best order: the veggie special, which was a grilled portabello mushroom cap — all gussied up!

There certainly were no complaints about the chocolate dessert, either!

Here is one of those flower arrangements in a votive candle holder. I loved the idea, which the folks at G&G Interiors gave us.

This was such a fun night. I’m honored to work for, and with, the greatest bunch of folks in the world! Thank you!
Moxley Carmichael really is the best place to work — great team and great clients! Of course, being right on Gay Street with Market Square in our backyard makes lunchtime and after work a lot of fun as well.
Shaun: Thanks! We love working with you, too. You help make this the best place to work in Knoxville! That was a great night. I wish I had take some shots in the bar, as well, when we went for nightcaps. It’s nice when your co-workers are folks you love spending time with.
Tami: Couldn’t agree more. I forgot to put your REAL title in the caption: CSO, Chief Spirit Officer!
Moxley Carmichael is the best place to work because we have the best team by far! That was such a fun night. Merry Christmas, everyone!
Thanks, Lauren! You and John make our social gatherings so much fun! Tell him we consider him a part of the team, too.
Congratulations on being named The Best Place to Work! Your team looks quite happy as they seem to be celebrating The Best Place to Eat!
Congrats and best wishes for much continued success!
Thanks so much, Rusha! You are right about that evening – the eating was good! We are very grateful for the award.
